About the GAN & McDonalds’ Initiative

McDonald’s & GAN Integrity have, in collaboration, designed a comprehensive whistleblowing program to help franchisees foster a speak up culture, protect their employees and ensure that the collective McDonald’s brand reputation resonates with its customers’ highest ethical standards.
Therefore, as a McDonald’s franchisee, you can sign up for the McDonald’s Whistleblower Initiative and get access to a unique and intuitive turnkey solution at a heavily-discounted price. About the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive
The European Union passed the new EU Whistleblower Protection Directive at the end of 2019 and is set to go into effect in December 2021. The new regulation directs all member states to adopt their own version of the directive as national law. So by 17th December 2021, companies working in the EU with 250 or more workers must create internal reporting systems to help employees and third parties speak up and ensure they are protected from retaliation. Companies with 50 workers or more will have to be in compliance with the same regulations by 17th December 2023.
At a minimum, the national laws must include all the whistleblower protections listed in the EU directive, but could include additional protections if a country decides to do so.
